Blurb:-
In Two Leaves and a Bud, M A Chacko shares his rich insights into te Syrian Christian community of Kerala. Three distinct stories weave their magic in this novel:
The first, The Faithful Husband, stars Seby, a true Sunday Christian, who has acquired land from the Malabar Namboodiris and contrives to retain the land for his family, using any means.
The protagonist of the second book is a young Catholic boy from Kerala, who sets off for greener pastures to earn a living as a construction worker.
The Holiday, the final book in this trilogy, is a day in the life of Raymond, who wanders through old haunts in Goa on his day off. With its leisurely pace & graceful style, The Holiday gently touches ethics, politics, and religion in this multi-cultural tourist hotspot.
Review:-
Thanks for writermelon for wonderful review copy.
Let’s talk about cover first. The cover Design is very simple yet eye catching. At first I loved the cover very much.
.
This book is one of the easy and light read. The content of this book is so deeply written. The good part about this book is divided into three part that makes a easy and light read.
.
In this trilogy’s the one part remains constant is ‘two feature”. The first part talk about countryside of south India and their observation about life.
.
The thing I don’t like about book is third person narration. For me its little bit difficult to read with third person view. The story put you in thought which is right or wrong. The another part is at some point I feel like story is described a lot that can be made in short.
.
The plot is lucid and easy going. Author talk about indian society and policy through the view of rural area.
.
I recommend this book to people who loves to read third view writing and who love to see different view on society.
